BNSF 4468 West - Snow Blast
Two GoPro cameras set on opposite sides of the tracks as a GE C40-8 runs by.
The Union Pacific’s 1996 Southern Pacific Heritage engine. A two GoPro camera capture.
Snowy Owl West of Steward, Illinois
Getting situated in the small branches at the top of a tree. This owl took off later and just missed a squirrel meal in the adjacent field. I followed it over there, and got my video camera running while the bird sat on the snow covered ground. Early on the bird regurgitates a “pellet” which is part of its digestive process. If that kind of thing makes you uncomfortable, you’ve been warned. Video: http://youtu.be/SlOvBNDerAs
The “Troy Grove Job” in the Snow
Four EMD “Geeps” run through a drift filled area lined with trees along the Union Pacific’s Troy Grove subdivision.
The final shot shows two of my cameras on the tripods which I had placed to be leaning into the strong west wind. Minimizing the tipping chance. With the Manfrotto ball heads, the tripod legs can be tilted while the camera is level.
